How to write your salon’s booking menu
Help clients choose between a haircut, styling and a color consultation with names that explain what they will receive.
By the Separalo team
Start with services you can time
Start with services whose timings you know well. “Haircut, wash and style” tells clients more than “Complete haircut” and helps them recognize what they want.
This menu says what the haircut includes and offers a consultation to discuss color. Describe the services as you offer them at your salon.
For a color change that needs an assessment, offer a consultation. Agree on the work and length after that conversation.
Explain what the price covers
If a transformation is a different service, give it its own name. Each option has its price and duration; for work that needs an assessment, offer the consultation first.
Allow time to finish and prepare the station
If washing, cutting and styling usually take an hour, set the service to 60 minutes. The client needs a slot that allows you to complete all the work within your hours.
In Services, add the cleanup buffer under “After each appointment.” For lunch or another fixed pause, set a break. Review the times offered on the page after saving.
Check the names with someone new to the menu
- Ask someone to find the option for maintaining their haircut.
- Then ask them to find the consultation for discussing a color change.
- If they hesitate, ask which name they expected to see and adjust the menu.
After publishing, note which bookings you need to correct. If the same confusion returns, change that service’s explanation.
Explain when to choose a color consultation
After the consultation, arrange the full service appointment. Include all of its time in the duration: Separalo does not open slots for another client during color processing.
